Prosser is a charming town of 6,000 located on the Yakima River, home of the famous Chukar Cherries, multiple walkable wine tasting rooms as Vinter's Village and beyond, coffee shops, breweries, boutique clothing stores, handmade artisan chocolates, and more. The Great Prosser Balloon Rally draws as many as 10,000 people in September to marvel at the sight of hot air balloons in the sky. Throughout the year, you'll find an abundance of downtown festivals, art walks, and other events.

Prosser School District
At the Great Prosser Balloon Rally, spectators will be able to watch the pilots prepare their giant balloons. Some lucky spectators are even asked to assist the balloon pilots inflate, chase, and recover the Hot-Air-Balloons. The weekend activities include Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Launches, Night Glow, Harvest Festival, Farmers Market, and last but not least Caren Mercer-Andreason Street Painting Festival.
Chukar Cherries has been transforming local sweet and tart cherries into award-winning chocolate cherries, no sugar added dried cherries, and Northwest gifts. In 2020 they opened a winery offering daily tastings of our Columbia Valley wines paired with dried cherries and chocolates. Chukar is family-owned since 1988.
Vintners Village is a signature wine destination in the heart of Washington wine country. Vintners Village is home to nationally-acclaimed wineries and tasting rooms with nibbles to nosh, a restaurant, gift shop and bakery, B&B, and other places to explore. The Village is anchored by the Winemakers Loft, a collection of centrally located tasting rooms where you can venture door-to-door surrounded by more wineries and shops on the grounds.
